Sound Studio
This project was the brainchild of two LifeHouse Residents who are amateur artists with extensive knowledge of and experience with music industry production. They collaborated closely with Donta Gee, one of our creative consultants, and LifeHouse staff to develop a music recording project where residents can create and record their own songs as part of their recovery process and then perform them for a resident audience as part of Gee’s Open Mic program. Residents have access to an onsite recording studio where they are guided through a series of steps to create music. Norman Breedlove, one of the originators of this project, who is a current LifeHouse resident, provides technical advice and lots of encouragement to anyone interested in expressing their creativity through music. No previous experience is required.
