In addition to the services offered by the providers relating to formal education and training, LifeHouse Group has developed a key life skills internal training programs, designed to provide general experience and competency training for reintegration. These programs focus specifically on financial literacy, basic computer skills, nonviolence training, de-escalation, conflict resolution, instruction regarding available medical benefits, and basic survival skills, such as food, transportation and opening a bank account. The VA finances the majority of these services for honorably discharged veterans, and nonprofit organizations subsidize most of the cost for non-veteran residents. Several local banks also sponsor financial literacy programs through the Community Reinvestment Act that residents can utilize.
